ROCKWALL, TEXAS " Rinkenberg, Alice M., 88, died, Thursday, February 3, 2011 at her home in Rockwall, Texas. She was born on May 9, 1922 in Longton, Elk County, Kansas the daughter of Alfred and Eva (Redmond) Wilson. On January 18, 1941, she married C. Kenneth Carpenter, Sr. in Bentonville, Arkansas. Alice was a Licensed Practical Nurse, during WWII she was a "Rosie the riveter" helping build B17s and B29s, later operated a ceramic shop and making porcelain dolls. She is survived by her sister Mabel Handy, Coffeyville, KS, her children, Sheila J. Heubach, Newton, KS, Patricia C. Johnson and husband Robert, Perkins, OK, C. Kenneth Carpenter, Jr. and wife Lida, Rockwall, TX, and Ronald L. Carpenter and wife Lois, Galena, MO, and by 9 Grandchildren, 10 Great-Grandchildren, and 5 Great-Great-Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, two brothers and her husband C. Kenneth Carpenter, Sr. who passed away in 1982. Her second husband, Arthur Rinkenberg, died in 1991. A private family service will be held later.
