ALFRED STEVE CHILDERS

Alfred Steve Childers, 60 of Nevada, TX, passed away at his home on Sunday, February 19th 2017.

Al was born in Taylorsville, North Carolina on August 15, 1956, son of Dora W. Childers and Vernon Talmage Childers.

He was a graduate of Hiddenite High School and Catawba Valley Technical College. He served in the Army 08/15/74-3/19/80 and worked for ISS Facilities Services for the past 6 years and prior to that 8 years with Alpine Power Systems.

Survivors include his wife Paula Childers of 24 years, of Nevada, TX; a daughter, Kristina Childers Miller, of Statesville, NC; step sons, Rob Gagler and wife Amy of Lehi, UT; Tony Gagler and wife Sunni, of Grand Junction, CO.; Nine grandchildren, Kassidy, Kyleigh, Jacob, Bella; Reese, Ryan, Ava; Jessica, Sara; one brother, David Ray Childers and wife Susie of Taylorsville North Carolina, a sister Sylvia Diane Childers Collinsworth of Taylorsville North Carolina along with a number of nieces nephews and other loved ones.

A memorial service will be held at Charles W. Smith and Sons Funeral Home in Sachse TX on Saturday February 25, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. Condolences may be sent to the Childers family at www.cwsfuneralhome.com
