Alexander Rafael Espinal, was born in Nyack, NY on October 24, 1982 to Bernie Luna and Juan Alberto Alexander Espinal. He lived in New York until the age of 12 when he moved to Texas. On July 16, 2005 he married his high school sweetheart, Stephanie Stacy Espinal. Together they have 2 beautiful daughters, Madelyn Victoria Espinal (10) and Abigail Faith Espinal (2). Alex was an amazing father; He loved his little girls with all his heart and cherished every moment with them.
Alex's infectious personality made a memorable impression on so many lives. His beautiful brown eyes, bright smile and fun loving character drew people to him wherever he went. He was always the life of the party; doing things to make everyone laugh. He was also an amazing story teller with a great sense of humor.
Alex had a successful career as a surgical technologist and medical sales rep. where he touched the lives of so many. In 2009, he discovered his passion for bodybuilding, working tirelessly to reach his goals. Through his hard work and dedication he won several bodybuilding competitions with his family and friends cheering him on. He always said the gym was his therapy, he could go in having a bad day and take it out on the weights. Alex was a hard worker but also loved spending time with family and going on vacation to Florida. He treasured memories and sentimental items that brought him back to those special moments in his life. He was also an avid music lover; he had a song for every occasion and shared his thoughts and feelings through music.
Alex will be sorely missed and survived by his brother, Enrique Gavarette and 3 sisters, Kimberly Castillo, Cristina Espinal and Alexa Espinal. He is also survived by his mother Bernie Luna.
Alex took his last breath at Medical City Dallas on Thursday, April 11, 2019. He will be missed more than words could ever express. We will forever remember this beautiful soul.
Please join us in celebrating his life Tuesday, April 16th from 5-8pm at Charles W. Smith and Sons Funeral Home 2925 5th St., Sachse, TX 75081. A mass in honor of Alex will be held on Wednesday, April 17th at 10am at St. Anthony's Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Sachse Cemetery.
