On October 10, 2024, Alene Edna Hanke Weidner, age 91, was lovingly taken into the arms of Jesus. Born on October 6, 1933, Alene lived a long and full life, rich in love, wisdom, and grace.
Throughout her 91 years, Alene was a pillar of strength and kindness for her family and friends. She was known for her gentle spirit, generosity, and unwavering support of those around her. She touched the lives of many with her warmth and compassion, always ready with a smile or a comforting word.
Her greatest joy in life was her family, whom she loved deeply. As a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, Alene leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and enduring faith. She will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
Alene is survived by her son Darrel Weidner and his wife Rhonda, her granddaughter Brittany Farco and her husband Ryan, her granddaughter Terra McNutt and her husband Daniel, and her great-granddaughter McKinley McNutt. She is also survived by her brother Lester Hanke and his wife Opal, her sister Betty Lou Trulove and her husband Jack, her sister Jeanie Orasg, and her brother Lawrence Hanke, who will continue to honor her memory through their lives and shared traditions.
She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Ernest Weidner Jr., and her younger sister, Marylin Gerza.
