Albino Rey Luna

August 11, 1947 — February 25, 2020

Albino Rey Luna, age 72, passed away February 25th at Baylor Medical Center after a long battle with heart issues.

Rey was born and raised in Dallas, TX in the area known as "Little Mexico". He was the son of Fidencio and Seferina Luna. He attended St Ann's School, Crozier Tech, and El Centro College. As a young man he worked for his father at Stados Baking Company. He owned his own video company called Gordovision doing videos and pictures for weddings, quinceñeras, and other family celebrations. He was a kind and compassionate spirit as well as an organ donor.

Rey is a veteran of the Vietnam War. He served in the Army from July 8, 1968 to July 7, 1970. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post # 6796 in Garland, TX, Los Amigos Del Barrio organization, and a parishioner at St. Edward Roman Catholic Church in Dallas. He was also a regular attendee at the monthly 1st Tuesday Veteran dinner at Casita Tex Mex Bar and Grill.

Rey was preceded in death by his father, Fidencio, his mother Seferina, sisters Hope and Norma, and brothers Albert and Jerry. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Elida, his sisters Aurora Bazan, Becky Luna, Elizabeth Monson, sister-in-law Ana Luna and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
