Alberto “Beto” Espinel passed away on July 16, 2023 at Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas. Alberto was born on August 28, 1941 to his parents German Espinel and Leonilde Espinel, in Bogota, Colombia. Alberto is one of eight siblings. Alberto served in the Colombian National Navy at the age of 17 and served for 2 years. After the navy, his real adventure started when he joined the merchant marines and travelled around the world to different ports. Alberto moved to the United States in 1964 to New York. There in New York he met his now ex-wife Nancy Silvers. Alberto and Nancy had two children, Brian and Peggy, to whom Alberto would become the best father in the world to. From New York, the family moved to and grew up in Dallas, TX. Alberto become a machinist working at manufacturing companies. Alberto also worked for two wonderful people, Norman Rudman and Jacque Maloy during the late 80’s and 90’s. It has been said by everyone who knew him that Alberto was the sweetest man with biggest heart and would do anything for his children. His children, Brian and Peggy know they were the luckiest kids to have his love as a father.
Alberto is survived by his daughter, Peggy Espinel, son, Brian Espinel, daughter in law, Rocio Espinel, two grandchildren, Alexa and Aric Espinel, brothers German and Fabio Espinel, sister in law Judy Espinel, sisters Nubia Treglia, Astrid Ferrone and Aleyda Schirripa, and brother in law Rich Schirripa.
Alberto is preceded in death by his parents German and Leonilde Espinel, and by his younger brother Jaime. His family, friends and loved ones will miss him dearly. A memorial will be held on Saturday July 29 from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Charles W. Smith and Sons, 2925 East 5th Street, Sachse, TX 75048.
